YEMEN FACTSHEET - August 2020

Yemen is still the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. More than five years into the conflict, eighty percent of the population is in need of humanitarian assistance and protection.

A collapsing economy and often non-existent public services mean that millions struggle to access food, water, education and healthcare. This dire situation has been exacerbated by the global COVID-19 pandemic. CARE reaches 2.8million people a year across 13 governorates and 95 districts in Yemen.

We work in food security and livelihoods, WASH, reproductive health, women’s economic empowerment and education and training. We have reached a quarter of a million people in 2020 with COVID-19 prevention activities.
